Why You Should Always Stay True To Yourself.
Nothing else really matters; Love is all we need! |
The importance of Self-love and the journey of embracing your true self:
Staying true to your identity involves a tremendous amount of self-reflection and courage. We live in a world of mass media and popular culture. While it may seem easy and only desirable to follow the path that everyone else around us has taken, it is very hard to stay true to yourself and build boundaries that respect your existence. Nevertheless, it is imperative to be honest with yourself and respectful to your own existence.
Our bodies act as a conduit for our souls. Our souls are made of light and metaphysical dust and while science and spirituality still tend to disagree over these ideas. It is only natural that the curious human mind tries to locate a sense of refuge within and outside of the body. Respecting and embracing your individuality inside and outside, establishes the foundation of routes that lead to a fulfilling life.
Being honest with yourself not only validates your existence, but it also helps establish healthier boundaries for yourself. The people, who love you the most, will always put in extra work to understand you. People who invalidate your boundaries are internally immature. They haven’t worked on themselves enough to be able to fathom your existence. This is only a self-reflection of the insecurities and emotional damage that they have faced and never had the courage to work on.
Building up your identity and setting boundaries:
Staying true to your self begins with the act of self-reflection. In our darkest moments we struggle to find light. One of the reasons behind this is that we are always looking for external validation. But what about that dust of light that is within you, encapsulated inside the meat and bones and intertwined vessels that carry life. The light is within. God is within. You need to look inside yourself to find yourself. The process of validating your needs and your thoughts is crucial to your existence. At birth we are all labeled and put within categories, but only as we grow we develop a sense of how we feel on the inside. Learning, unlearning and relearning is a time taking process that involves a tremendous amount of work and courage, but the results are always fulfilling.
Non je ne regrette rien (No, I do not regret anything):
Staying true to your self brings joy and fulfillment to our body and mind. In a fast moving world we often forget to feed ourselves. And no I don’t mean actual food, even though it necessary to live. I’m talking about water and nourishment. Our mind is like a plant. It needs to be watered often, in fact daily, for it to grow in to a beautiful tree. This tree will only be able to hold ground and bear fruit if it has been subjected to love. Water is the language of love. It has the ability to take shape, to cast new routes, to nourish and give life. Water in its metaphysical sense, is the love that we nourish our bodies and mind with.
Staying true to your self is like giving value to yourself. It’s important to love yourself before you can begin to love things around you. Embracing your true self allows you to channel love, nourishment and empathy without any prejudice and hate. It puts you directly under the light of divinity, wisdom, self-love and a life of no regrets!
